The Sleuth Kit

Found it to be a little hoaky on the windows version...

Pros:
It's free, which is nice.
Cons:
I tried this the other day, and had some trouble using it. Said I was missing a DLL file. I have seen this working on a linux box, but if you are a windows user, be careful. I am on windows 7 box 64 bit, I think this is the source of the trouble.

The Sleuth Kit

I enjoyed this tool. Very user friendly and intuitive. A++

Pros:
I just tested the recent version 3.2.1. Very fast and light weight. I had an entire folder that had magically disappeared after installing a series of new hardware drivers. After many hours, I attempted this tool, and it did exactly as it purported. It was able to find the lost data and save the day be recovering the data inside of it.
Cons:
I will say that they could use the new Windows version. Why did this get discontinued?
